Former UFC Lightheavyweight Champion and Bellator MMA veteran Quinton Rampage Jackson is out of MMA, but definitely not out of competition. One of the most fan-favourite fighters in MMA history, Rampage was seen as a team captain recently for Team MMA whose MMA veterans went on to showcase their potential in a new sport which involves boxing and clinch boxing in a triangular arena.

Rampage last fought at Bellator 237 where he lost to the heavyweight great Fedor Emelianenko via first-round TKO. Regardless, in his career Rampage has over 38 wins in ratio to just 14 losses and has notable victories over Chuck Liddell, Kevin Randleman, Wanderlei Silva, Igor Vochanchyn, Murilo Bustamante, Ricardo Arona, Dan Henderson, Lyoto Machida, Muhammad Lawal, and many more.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Rampage said after the completion of Triller‘s Triad Combat event “It’s something new; I think it’s here to stay, I think the UFC is gonna be worried about this. I don’t know what Dana White’s response is gonna be.” (h/t MMA Junkie)

Earlier, Ryan Kavanaugh, co-founder of Triller, invited UFC President Dana White to witness the event and “see a proper production in action” but seems like White did not make the trip to the event’s location in Texas. “I think UFC and Bellator should be worried right now, honestly,” Jackson stated.

In the event, Rampage’s team MMA went against his rival, boxing legend Shanon Briggs‘ team Boxing and won the team championship belt with a 4-3 mark. Team MMA included UFC veterans Frank Mir, Matt Mitrione and Mike Perry. Perry made the most notable victory in this one of a kind sport via split decision.

What do you think about Triller experimenting in the combat sports business and making bizarre things like Triad Combat, celebrity boxing, and much more stuff possible with their unique way of promotion? Are you in for it or do you feel like it’s too much of a show and less of a traditional, classic fistfight competition, the way that started the fight business?
