Tim Lincecum is a former pitcher for San Fransisco Giants, over his Major League Baseball career he represented the San Francisco Giants (2007 to 2015) and Los Angeles Angels (2016). He was nicknamed by many names, “The Freak“, “The Franchise“, “The Freaky Franchise” and “Big Time Timmy Jim” but none of that could fill out his grief as his wife, Cristin Coleman, who lost her battle with cancer on June 27.

The former Cy Young Awardee Tim Lincecum lost her wife Cristin Coleman in June and her death was reported locally at the time. She was described in reports as a beloved educator and principal at Burlingame School District’s Washington Elementary School.

The San Fransisco Giants mourned the loss of Tim Lincecum’s wife, on twitter, “The Giants were extremely saddened to learn of the passing of Tim Lincecum’s wife, Cristin Coleman.  Our deepest condolences go out to Tim, Cristin’s family and all those whose lives she touched as a friend and teacher.”

San Fransisco Giants family share sympathies in this difficult time for Tim Lincecum and family

The San Mateo Daily Journal cited a letter to the district from her parents, Randy and Sue Coleman, saying Coleman died peacefully at her home surrounded by family. “During her illness, Cristin never expressed fear, anger, or self-pity, but she was deeply sad to be leaving all of us so soon and for causing us to grieve.”

“And she was profoundly grateful for all your love and support – ‘Washington people have such big hearts.’ It was never about her,” the Colemans wrote. “It was about Love – Love for her family, her friends, her hundreds of students and their families, and her many professional colleagues.”

Tim Lincecum’s in-laws added, “Cristin told me she wasn’t afraid because she was leaving all her love to us, the lucky ones whose lives and hearts she touched.”

During his career, Tim Lincecum was a four-time All-Star, winning the Cy Young Award in 2008 and 2009 and helped lead the team to a dynasty, with three World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. He was seen celebrating his second title with Cristin Coleman.
